A Slow Fashion Movement Rooted in Bohemian Luxe
Our story
LaKoèn is a ready-to-wear women’s clothing brand founded by Shannon Pittman, the designer behind Bo & Luca—a beloved Australian bridal label known for its timeless bohemian style and exquisite hand-embroidered artistry. After 12 years of creating one-of-a-kind wedding gowns that combined effortless bohemian elegance with intricate craftsmanship, Shannon now brings the same commitment to slow fashion and artisanal creativity to LaKoèn, a collection designed to be as timeless and enduring as the women who wear it.
With Bo & Luca, Shannon built a reputation for luxurious, hand-embroidered wedding gowns that celebrated individuality and artistry. Now, with LaKoèn, she expands that vision into ready-to-wear pieces that honour the same ethos of sustainability, quality, and ethical production. Each piece is carefully crafted with intention, designed to last far beyond the fleeting seasons of fast fashion.
LaKoèn is not bound by the constraints of a traditional fashion calendar. Rather than releasing collections based on rigid timelines, pieces are introduced when they are ready, crafted by skilled artisans around the globe. Each garment is a testament to the time, love, and artistry that have gone into its creation.
The aesthetic of Lakoen blends bohemian luxe with modern sophistication, offering timeless silhouettes and intricate details. The collection features luxurious fabrics, hand-dyed textiles, and delicate embroidery, all made with sustainable, ethically sourced materials. By working directly with artisans who specialise in traditional crafts, Shannon ensures that each garment is not only a reflection of creativity and culture but also a product of fair labour practices and a commitment to preserving ancient techniques.
Lakoen is built on the belief that fashion should be meaningful and lasting. Each piece is carefully designed to transcend trends, offering versatile, elegant styles that can be worn season after season. These are garments that become treasures in your wardrobe, created to withstand the test of time, not just in terms of quality but in style.
Shannon’s vision for LaKoèn is simple: to create a new kind of luxury - one that values artistry over speed, quality over quantity, and longevity over disposability. Lakoen pieces are designed to be passed down, treasured, and loved - garments that stand as enduring statements of craftsmanship, culture, and conscious living.
For the woman who values timeless elegance, slow fashion, and the artistry of handcraft, LaKoèn offers more than just clothing - it offers pieces that are built to last, that tell a story, and that will remain in your wardrobe for years to come.

A Personal Note from our founder
I’ve always believed that fashion should be more than just clothes - it should be an expression of who we are, an embodiment of our most confident and authentic selves. But I couldn't shake the feeling that I needed to do more than simply create beautiful things in a world that is constantly demanding more and more from us, and with the current state of the world's bigger issues at hand.
But over the last few years, as I dressed brides for what to many women is one of the most important days in their lifetime, a day that is so wholesome and brings so much joy to not only the bride but their family, friends and loved ones... something shifted. I started to see how the right dress - the perfect Bo & Luca gown - could empower a woman in ways I hadn’t fully understood before. When a woman puts on a dress that was uniquely hers, something magical happens. She radiates confidence. She feels like the best version of herself. I saw brides walking down the aisle not just in a beautiful gown, but in something that made them feel like they were wearing armour - a garment that silently held them up, making them feel strong, unique, and deeply connected to their truest self.
It was in those moments that I realised the true power of clothing. It’s not just about the aesthetics; it’s about how it makes you feel when you wear it. The way it can elevate you, ground you, and make you feel seen. That realisation changed everything for me. I knew that I had to continue creating, but it had to be different. It had to be more intentional. More meaningful. And it had to reflect my values, both as a designer and as a person who cares deeply about the wearer and the people who make our clothes.
This is how LaKoèn was born. LaKoèn is my answer to the modern need for fashion that’s not bound by the pressures of fast trends or rigid fashion calendars. It’s a collection that exists outside of the traditional fashion system, because I want to release pieces when they are ready, when they are truly crafted with care and artistry, not rushed to meet an arbitrary deadline. These are garments made to last, pieces you’ll want to wear season after season, because they make you feel uniquely beautiful, every single time you put them on. Clothing that feels timeless, pieces that you love, that you care for, that become treasures in your wardrobe - pieces that you sometimes just want to admire. These are the pieces you wear when you’re running errands, meeting friends for coffee, or taking a walk on the weekend. The pieces that, no matter how simple, make you feel like your most beautiful, confident self. The pieces that, even on an ordinary day, still make you feel like the most beautiful version of yourself.
For me, it’s about quality over quantity. Intention over speed. The commitment to slow, sustainable fashion that honours the artistry and craftsmanship that goes into every piece. Each garment in the Lakoen collection is created with care, using ethical materials and traditional artisan techniques from around the world. These are the pieces I want to create: timeless, meaningful, and designed to empower women every day.
There are millions of women across the globe who share these same values and are in alignment with what I am creating. I am so thankful for the women who choose to wear these pieces, who trust me to create something that will become part of their story. And I am forever grateful for this journey - the highs and lows, the learning, the growth, and the deep, unshakable belief that fashion, when done thoughtfully, can be a force for good.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. I can’t wait to share LaKoèn with you.
